Marenka Krasomil is a curator based in Berlin and Barcelona.
With her curatorial practice she is focusing on experimental, transdisciplinary and collaborative strategies and on urban and public spaces.
In 2023 she is the curator in residence of Sant Andreu Contemporani (SAC) in Barcelona and at Casa Planas in Mallorca. She curated different projects in public and urban spaces, a.o. CARPARK (2023), “Kunst im Untergrund / Art in the Underground/" (since 2020 ongoing), “Flaneurin* oder Spaßverderberin*? / Flâneur or Killjoy?” (2020), and "Whenever the Heart Skips a Beat" (2017).
Until 2023 she was the curatorial director and curator of feldfünf e.V. (since 2018), a transdisciplinary cultural platform for collaborative projects. In 2016 she founded the online residency x-temporary.org (2016-2018).
Marenka Krasomil studied “Curatorial Studies” at Städelschule Frankfurt am Main and at the Royal College of Art in London, and took part in the “Commissioning and Curating Contemporary Public Art” program at Valand Academy-University of Gothenburg.
Her curatorial projects include exhibitions with artists a.o., Ayami Awazuhara, Calori & Maillard, COVE Berlin, Raqs Media Collective, Sara Løve Daðadóttir, Nuray Demir, Anna Ehrenstein, Rahima Gambo, Natascha Sadr Haghighian, Lina Hermsdorf, Balz Isler & Justin F. Kennedy, Katharina Ludwig, Katharina Marszewski, Kristina Paustian, pcnc_bay, Lilly Pfalzer, Ayumi Rahn, Tabita Rezaire, Shirin Sabahi, Maya Schweizer, Hanae Utamura, Shira Wachsmann, Miriam Yammad.
Her publications and editorial works include text contributions to catalogues for Neuer Berliner Kunstverein, Gallery Conradi, INDEX, Kunsthaus Hamburg and magazines such as all-over | Magazin für Kunst und Ästhetik, and Die Nadel – Kulturwissenschaftliche Zeitschrift für Kunst und Medien.
Marenka Krasomil was taking part in various workshops among others: BarTool#4 a project by Bar Project Barcelona, ART MATTERS, a workshop by Robert-Bosch foundation; Curatorial roundtrip including studio visits organised by Goethe Institute Bratislava, The Institute of Things to Come at the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin and the International Curatorial Workshop, Vessel, Italy.
