Marenka Krasomil is a cultural scientist, author, editor and curator based in Berlin and Barcelona.
With her curatorial practice she is focusing on experimental, transdisciplinary and collaborative strategies and on urban and public spaces.
She is the artistic director of Driving, Dreaming, Drifting (Barcelona, Brussels, Stuttgart). Since 2024 she is part of the curatorial team of the public art festival CURRENT in Stuttgart (2025) and since 2020 of Art in the Underground, nGbK Berlin.
In 2023, Marenka was awarded the International Curatorial Residency Program by Sant Andreu Contemporani in Barcelona and undertook a residency at Casa Planas, Palma de Mallorca, as part of Goethe auf Mallorca. Her independent curatorial projects include Actors in the Discourse of Places at Espai Souvenir, Barcelona (2024), Nature Is Ancient, But Surprises Us All (2023), CARPARK (2023), New Urban Publics (2023), as above, so below (2021), Flâneur or Killjoy? (2020), and Whenever the Heart Skips a Beat (2017).
She was the curatorial director and curator of feldfünf e.V. (2018-2023), a transdisciplinary cultural platform for collaborative projects. The assistant curator at Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (2014-2018) and the founder of the online residency x-temporary.org (2016-2018).
Marenka Krasomil studied “Curatorial Studies” at Städelschule Frankfurt am Main and at the Royal College of Art in London, and took part in the “Commissioning and Curating Contemporary Public Art” program at Valand Academy-University of Gothenburg.
Her curatorial projects include exhibitions with artists a.o., Ayami Awazuhara, Calori & Maillard, COVE Berlin, Raqs Media Collective, Nuray Demir, Anna Ehrenstein, Rahima Gambo, Natascha Sadr Haghighian, Lina Hermsdorf, Balz Isler & Justin F. Kennedy, Kinga Kielczynska, Göksu Kunak, Kristina Paustian, pcnc_bay, Sunny Pfalzer, Ayumi Rahn, Tabita Rezaire, Shirin Sabahi, Maya Schweizer, House of Tupamaras, Shira Wachsmann, Miriam Yammad, Peng Zuqiang.
Her publications and editorial works include text contributions to catalogues for Neuer Berliner Kunstverein, CURRENT Magazin #3, Gallery Conradi, INDEX, Kunsthaus Hamburg and magazines such as all-over | Magazin für Kunst und Ästhetik, and Die Nadel – Kulturwissenschaftliche Zeitschrift für Kunst und Medien.
Marenka Krasomil was taking part in various workshops among others: BarTool#4 by Bar Project Barcelona, ART MATTERS, a workshop by Robert-Bosch foundation; Curatorial trip including studio visits organised by Goethe Institute Bratislava, The Institute of Things to Come at the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin and the International Curatorial Workshop, Vessel, Italy.
